A crazy kaleidoscope of color, psychedelic reds, blues and greens on a southwest style journey through the fantastic rugged terrain on the way from Santa Fe to Taos, nestled at the foot of a mighty mountain of the same name.
DESCRIPTION
Quintessentially this painting takes the element of color and pushes it past the event horizon, beyond what would be considered natural into something overtly dramatic almost comical, dripping with bright color reminiscent of 60s psychedelic pop art. In the art world this is being called Inversionism, the taking of any characteristic of a representational painting and pushing it beyond the event horizon into something new, in this case color. This is not a random act and corresponds directly with peoples expectations of a psychedelic journey. And for many the journey to the Southwest and specifically Taos/Santa Fe is psychedelic. Although not natural, it feels right.
