Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

NARRATIVE

A crazy kaleidoscope of color, psychedelic reds, blues and greens on a southwest style journey through the fantastic rugged terrain on the way from Santa Fe to Taos, nestled at the foot of a mighty mountain of the same name.

DESCRIPTION

Quintessentially this painting takes the element of color and pushes it past the event horizon, beyond what would be considered natural into something overtly dramatic almost comical, dripping with bright color reminiscent of 60s psychedelic pop art. In the art world this is being called Inversionism, the taking of any characteristic of a representational painting and pushing it beyond the event horizon into something new, in this case color. This is not a random act and corresponds directly with peoples expectations of a psychedelic journey. And for many the journey to the Southwest and specifically Taos/Santa Fe is psychedelic. Although not natural, it feels right.

I DREAMED AMERICA - Visionary Landscapes of the West and Beyond Art James West email: artweststudio@outlook.com website: art-west.pixels.com I've loved America since I was a kid. The beauty, the grandeur. Yeah, the corny stuff -- from sea to shining sea, purple mountains majesty and all that. I used to travel a lot with my folks and have been to 48 contiguous states. I used to gaze out the window of our old '58 Chev and imagine putting it all to paint, I dreamed America! I remember sitting out in front of the Tetons in the mid 60s pushing some paint around on a piece of masonite. To be a painter you have to paint! And folks now consider me a master oil painter. I've been painting the West for over 40 years and a...
