NARRATIVE
I drive an old yellow Taos truck seeking adventure and providence. I make my way up a narrow dirt road high above the desert, red rock above and red rock below to an old wooden dwelling perched on a ledge. A great blue planet--Earth--with swirling white storms hangs low and immense, just beyond great and misty mountains, steep and triangular.
ABOUT
This painting combines the Providence Mountains of California as seen from Interstate 40 and a dirt road I traversed in Monument Valley. The yellow truck is from Taos, the dwelling from Ranchos de Taos and the blue planet, well, that's just beyond ordinary, hyper-reality, displacement as it were.
